Ravi Chopra has been an outstanding Entrepreneur, Philanthropist & an Active Member of the Indo-US community in New York for the last two decades. He is known as king of calling card business in America and was one of the first to start this concept in US and Canada. He is CEO of STI group of companies and is one of the largest and oldest phone card distributor in USA. with multi million dollars of annual sales.

Born in Jalandhar, Punjab, Ravi belongs to famous CHOPRA family, owning the Hind Samachar Group of Newspaper and Chopra Publishers. At 14, he started helping his father in their book publishing business. As a teenager he was touring all over Punjab meeting their customers.

Ravi’s journey of success and achievement began at a young age of 22 when he became one of the World’s Youngest Rotarian. He was the President of Rotaract Club for 2 years and zonal representative for Punjab, Himachal & J & K. He actively participated in social and community events, including setting up camps for the blind, organizing blood donations, providing sewing machines to widows of army personnel, donating tricycles to the handicapped and helping with the school fees of children with lesser economic means. With a keen sense of environmental awareness, Ravi was responsible for organizing planting of thousands of trees in Punjab.

In 1991 Ravi decided to venture west to the USA. He started his first business in Flushing NY with the opening of Shan grocery store. Never to rest on his laurels, Ravi decided to diversify further. He started a commercial mortgage company called STI Consultants, a leader in Commercial Lending. Using his business skills and active community participation, Ravi converted this business in a hugely successful enterprise and in no time was closing more than billion dollar of commercial properties. Being a financier, builder, realtor and consultant, he has actively participated with different religious organizations, businesses and individuals to advise them in their need of finances.

During college, Ravi joined the All India Youth Congress where he quickly rose to become its Joint Vice President. Last year Ravi was honored by the Ex Chief Minister of Punjab, Maharaja Amarinder Singh at a special dinner reception in Chandigarh for supporting Chalo Punjab campaign. Ravi sits on the board of directors of the Indian National Overseas Congress (I), USA.

Currently, Ravi is on the board of numerous organizations in NY State. He is the Founder Member of Celebration. He is also on Board of Trustees of Hindu Center, Flushing, NY. He has been recognized and honored with awards as outstanding businessman and humanitarian by numerous organizations from the City Council & New York State Assembly.

Ravi’s accomplishments cannot be complete without his family. Married to Shalu has been his strength from Day 1 since their marriage. Ravi admits that he owes most of his success to his wife who stood with him building their businesses and taking care of their children, Yuv Raj 15 and Kuwar Raj 14.

Yuv Raj recently received the prestigious President’s Award for excellence in academics from President Obama. Both Yuvraj and Kuwar Raj are National level Chess players in US and have won more than 150 prizes in tournaments across different states. They have both been featured on TV programs. Ravi and his family enjoy camping and boating.

Suffice to say that Ravi’s unconditional devotion and passion for his community and vision for his business have made him a respected community and business leader.
