Kanak Golia

Mr. Kanak Golia is currently the President & CEO of Perfume Center of America, a thriving global company that was founded in 1993. He started his business from the back of a mini-van with only 16 months of experience in the fragrance industry. Over several years, with his sharp business acumen, he built one of the largest state-of-the art distribution centers in America employing over 300 people. Recently, he was distinguished with the Top Two Asian American business awards.

Having established in America, Mr. Golia and is wife never forgot their roots. Charitable work and giving back to the community are one of Mr. Golia’s highest priorities. They set up the Kanak and Prabha Golia Charitable Foundation which is focused on funding and supporting charities dedicated to children and women’s education, medical needs for the handicap, managing orphanages and providing for distressed animals. In his hometown of Jodhpur India, they have started the Nakoda Paras Bhairav Askhay Trust, which funds projects related to public health, education and women empowerment. Recently, Kanak and Prabha Golia foundation sponsored a three-day camp for the disabled and handicaped in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. More than 1800 people benefited with the distribution of calipers, tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids and walking sticks. Alongside with Jaipur foot, people were able to walk for the first time. A free ophthalmology camp was also organized, benefiting more than a 1,000 people. In addition, Kanak and Prabha Golia foundation is also a major supporter of Veerayatan charitable organization, whose mission is to work towards the care of humanity through health,education, and spirituality without distinction. It is based on three core pillars seva, shiksa and sadhana. Lastly, he has been awarded by the International Human Benefit services which provides education, healthcare, and women empowerment to rural India.

For his passion and business expertise, he was elected to the Board of Trustees at the New York Presbyterian Queens. Prabha and Kanak Golia were presented the hospital’s highest honor, the Pacesetter Award in recognition of their inspiring work which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mr. and Mrs. Golia have accepted a leadership role in the initiative to enhance and expand The Cancer Center at NYHQ.

Besides all the above, he is a proud grandfather of five. His two children, Preeti Mehta, a gastroenterologist and Piyush Golia, a Radiologist, and entrepreneur who owns one of the largest internet company in the world. He is blessed with a wonderful son-in-law Nilesh Mehta, a gastroenterologist and Roma, his daughter-in law, who is successful business women.
